The main techniques we use for water leak detection involve using ground microphones, tracer gasses, leak correlators and thermal imaging cameras. Water leaks can occur in many different places.

It may come in the form of a leak in the shower, kitchen, bathroom or geyser. Leaks in these areas are usually minor problems that can easily be detected and taken care of. Leaks become a bigger problem when they are in less visible places like a tank or pipe and that is where water leak detection equipment comes in.

We are the leaders in leak detection services in the Cape Town area. We have top quality water leak detection equipment to pin point any water leak not visible to the human eye.

With our water leak detection equipment and plumbing repair team we are immediately available to repair the detected water leak with minimal damages to walls or floors. We also recommend that you use our plumbing services repair team after we have detected the water leak to avoid the possibility of coming out again to point out the leak if another plumber opens the affected area and possibly misses the leak.

We use professional
detecting equipment

We carry all the latest technology in Leak Detection. All our equipment is highly sensitive. When it comes to leaks, whether domestic or commercial, timeliness is of the utmost importance in minimising the cost of the leak.

Stethophone

Acoustic sound equipment used to locate any audio in the system. Leaking pressurised water pipes produce noise. Using a Stethophone, the resulting water leak noise can be heard and the location identified.

Infra-Red Camera

To locate a water leak, you first need to know where the pipe is. The Infra-red Camera is a variable tool, used to locate leaks, map out piping and identify different sorts of damp problems.

Hydro Meter

Detects the presence of moisture in building materials and pin points the source of moisture intrusion, even when the origin is out of sight.

Tracer/Forming gas

Tracer gas is a completely safe mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen. This gas is introduced into the water pipes with the suspected leak. Gas then escapes from the leak point and is detected.

Hilti Marking tool and measurement display

When searching for a position of a leak, we use a Hilti Positioner to give us a more accurate direction of where the leak is coming from, specifically in an upstairs/downstairs scenario.

Fluorescent Dye and torch

Leaks are detected by introducing fluorescent dye into the system, allowing it to circulate with the host fluid. Once circulation is complete, the specialised torch is used to inspect for the leak sites. This dye is eco-friendly, namely biodegradable and non-harmful.

2 x Varieties of Sea Snake Cameras

1 for small waste pipes of up to 6m, when looking inside ceiling spaces or in hard to reach areas. The longer one is for 50mm pipes and for looking in ducts. It has a 20m cable and full HD, which is for more intricate and further away problems. This is not for looking inside sewers.

Sewerin Equipment

Sewerin are one of the leading leak detection equipment manufacturers.

Fluo Technik

We use a wide range of tracing dye products for leak detection.

Push Rod CCTV

CCTV systems are used for inspections in any type of pipelines and waste water pipes.

Camera Tracking

We can locate and determine the depth and location of your water pipes.
